This is a concept for the renovation of the exotarium in the Zurich Zoo, done in cooperation with the Zoo’s department of education in 2020. It explains the spread and impact of the Chytridfungus, which is currently one of the biggest threats to amphibians. Some species have become endangered, while others have gone extinct due to wide-spread infection of the fungi. Unforunately this is a global issue and can therefore be found in local swiss amphibians as well.
The concept for this corner of the exotarium includes UV lighting, which would illuminate a second layer of information, at first hidden from sight. Visitors would be able to switch between these two light settings.
